By default Google playstore will automatically update an app if there is a new version of an installed app in your phone. But Sometimes there are some apps you don't need newer version of but playstore will still update them.

steps to stop auto-update of apps in Android Phone

Lunch Your Playstore App.
Tap on the three dots at the top of your screen or swipe right and select settings.
click on "Auto-update apps" there is three options
==> Do not auto-update apps.
== Auto-update apps at any time and
==> Auto-update Apps over Wifi only
tick on the first option and save to stop the auto-update apps or the third option to update app when you are using wifi.

Now you have to update apps manually in other to get the latest version.
