How to stop instagram from consuming too much data on your phone

Most people are afraid of signing up on the social media "instagram" due to its high rate of data consumption, even those who sign up hardly come online. Not everybody can subscribe frequently, unlike facebook were users can even have access to free mode.
Here are 2 ways to reduce data usage by instagram

Turn-off Video Auto-play
while scrolling on your newsfeed, you will notice videos play automatically, this auto play feature consume data alot, if you want to stop your instagram app from using much data,
Go to menu on your instagram app
Click on settings > turn off "video auto-play" and save.
Now videos won't play automaticaly, to play to video tap on it.

Disable background data
Even if you don't open your instagram, anytime you turn on your data, it loads in background thereby consuming much data.
Go to settings on your phone > data connect > turn off background data

with these 2 tips, i assure you, you will be able to save data and resume data consumption by instagram.
